Local Case Studies

A look at how we’ve worked around Fontana’s neighborhoods and driving conditions.

SIERRA LAKES & NORTH FONTANA

A Newer Home, West-Facing Glare

A homeowner on the west side of Sierra Lakes was dealing with brutal afternoon sun hitting their living room and master bedroom from around 1pm until sunset. West-facing windows, second floor. The AC couldn’t keep up and the furniture near the windows was visibly fading. We installed a 50% VLT ceramic residential film on all west-facing windows. The homeowner said the difference in room temperature was noticeable the same afternoon we finished. No change to the home’s exterior appearance — the film reads as clear glass from outside, which kept it compliant with their HOA guidelines.

SOUTH FONTANA & ROUTE 66

A Classic Car Build Along Foothill Blvd

A Route 66 corridor customer brought in a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro he’d owned for over 20 years. He drove it regularly and was losing interior color to UV fading — the headliner and seat material were both showing bleaching on the sun-facing side. He wanted protection without any visible lines or disturbance to the factory trim. We hand-cut film around the window edges and chrome trim instead of using a plotter pattern. The installation took longer but left no visible edge lines. The car looks stock. The UV protection is there.

SOUTHRIDGE VILLAGE

A Daily 210/I-15 Commuter’s Sedan

A Southridge Village resident doing a daily 210/I-15 commute was dealing with heat and direct sun on westbound and southbound legs. He drives a 2021 Tacoma double cab — full glass on all four doors. We installed 70% ceramic on the front two windows (legal on fronts in California) and 20% ceramic on all rear windows. The difference in the rear cab temperature was significant enough that he called to mention it specifically. His son rides in the back seat on school pickups — less heat back there matters.

Frequently Asked Questions

What type of window tint is best for my car in Fontana?

The best window tint depends on your priorities, including heat rejection, UV protection, appearance, and budget. Ceramic tint is a popular choice for drivers who want strong heat and UV protection without sacrificing visibility, while carbon and dyed films can be suitable options for different budgets and preferences. We can help you choose the right film and shade for your vehicle based on how you drive and what matters most to you.

What is the darkest legal tint in California for cars?

Front side windows must allow more than 70% VLT combined with factory tint, or more than 88% for aftermarket film alone. Back side and rear windows can be as dark as you want.

Is 35% tint legal in California?

Not on front side windows if it drops your total VLT below the legal 70% combined threshold. It’s commonly used and legal on back side and rear windows.

Will you get pulled over for 50% tint in California?

On front side windows, it can be flagged if it takes your total VLT below the 70% legal minimum. On rear and back side windows, any darkness is legal.

How long does ceramic window tint last?

With proper installation, ceramic film typically lasts the life of the vehicle without fading, bubbling, or peeling.

Can I remove old window tint without damaging my paint?

Tint removal only affects the glass, not exterior paint, when done correctly with heat and the right tools. We treat removal as its own careful process, not a rushed add-on.
